Sutton’s Somerset Premier Cup quarter final away at Yeovil Town has been postponed, like most clubs in the area, Yeovil have been struggling to recover their pitch after each game and with another home match on Saturday against Milton Keynes Dons, they do not believe they will be able to get the pitch back to an acceptable standard by Tuesday. The date will be Monday 29th March. If Sutton can beat Yeovil then they will be away at Welton Rovers in the semi-final during week commencing 12th Aptil, Wells City will be at home against Bridgwater Town

Chris Mountford has stepped down from his position as the U18s manager for personal reasons, the club respected Chris’s decision and thanked him for his support of the club and wished him well for the future. First team manager Lee Lashenko will take control of the U18s away match at Bitton on Monday 1st March. The club hope to appoint a new manager very soon.

The Sutton club board is determined to ensure that all its players follow a strict code of conduct on the field of play, any player that shows descent or misconduct will expect to suffer a club fine or even a period of suspension over and above the Somerset FA punishment. Chairman George Williams said “the discipline on the pitch is more important than success and the players have to respect that or they won’t play for the club”

Sutton have just signed Peter Sheppard from Clevedon Town, he started his senior career at Sutton before playing at a higher level, he is a class left sided player with real speed and will add sheer quality to the team, Sutton and have also signed Ashley Derrick from Yate Town who is a very talented midfield player and who made his debut away at Melksham Town last Saturday.

The fixtures list for the club is going to look quite busy in the second half of the season with the FA demanding that all Western League football having to be finished by the end of April, the reserves and U18s fixtures being postponed as well will add to the chaos.
